What is still in dispute?
The claimant must establish the asserted right and the defendant may rebut it. Read what the signature box on the delivery note actually says. It may acknowledge receipt of 100 units without addressing unit price or freight. Identify common ground, then support price, quantity, discounts and the outstanding balance separately. [1]
How do you test a price variance?
If the order priced 100 units at SAR 80 and the invoice used SAR 95, the disputed uplift is SAR 1,500 before tax or adjustments. Look for a revised quotation accepted before dispatch and check the approver’s authority. Match returns and credit notes to payments. Only the uplift may remain contested. For a paper delivery note, identify the signature and any express denial of attribution. Between merchants, regular mandatory books can support the merchant who keeps them, subject to contrary proof. [3]
How should each side present the email?
Email is digital evidence and digital proof has the status of writing. It may be produced in original or other digital form. An extract carries the underlying record’s evidential weight to the extent it matches that record. Preserve the approval thread and original attachment. A buyer saying the quote concerned another order should identify that order and date. Schedule the agreed amount separately from the disputed uplift. [1]
Applicability on 2026-10-30
